New Tools and Old

All sorts of fun tools for drawing (including a Bamboo tablet), cutting, attaching, and saving work. The wooden handled screwdriver belong to one of my Grandfathers. Nikon D60; ss 1/2s; f8; no flash; ISO 200.

March 2, 2009: Galas

Best apples ever. Of course, so are Golden Delicious and Fujis. And Larry likes any kind of apple at all. Nikon D60; ss 15s; f22; no flash; ISO200.

March 1, 2009: Favorite Shopping

Love this place - bought a couple of dahlias today. Just nice to smell green and growing things. Nikon S550; ss 1/1048; f4.6; ISO 400.

February 28, 2009: Gnarled Tree Trunk

This is one of my favorite tree trunks - nicely knotted roots, interesting cavities, mossy bits, and heavily textured bark, all backed up by an intermittant stream. Canon S3IS; ss 1/80; f7.1; ISO200. Shot while out riding.

February 27, 2009: View from My Window

Yowsa - this was a tough edit. D60: ss 1/8;f8;ISO200. The view from my bedroom. Doesn't look like much, but this house represent a break from a very unpleasant period in my life. Now, no matter how gloomy the day, there's always a little bit of sunshine here because I made my life better.

February 26, 2009: Misspent Youth

Nikon S550; ss 1s; f8; no flash; ISO 200. Wasted far too much of my youth studying busines instead of art, literature, and natural history. Much to catch up on now...

February 25, 2009: Iron Pig

Nikon S550; ss 1/10; f3.5; no flash; ISO400. Iron piggy bank - bought this when I was out shopping with my parents in the early '90's.

February 24, 2009: Walking Around the Neighborhood

Nikon S550; ss 1/320; f4.8; no flash; ISO400. Just out walking around.

February 23, 2009

Nikon 550s; SS 1/4; f3.5;flash;ISO400. Some toy ponies I've been given over the years. Sootie thinks they belong to him, so they're in a glass-fronted cabinet in my work room.

February 22, 2009

Nikon D60; SS 8s; F22;no flash; ISO 200.
One of my amaryllis, newly bloomed. The stamens start out small, looking almost like seeds, then turn inside out as they age, exposing lots of fluffy pollen.
