Project 365 Catch-up

A little behind on project 365, so I'm going to do a couple of catch-up posts.

Thursday, 7/14, Akron Zoo Members' Night. The tiger was restless, probably late for dinner, pretty thrilling to see her running through Tiger Valley.

7/15: Had a lot of trouble with the full moon - couldn't see to focus. Two days later, I realized the viewfinder diopter was messed up. Durr...

7/16: Do I look pleased with my iPad? Oh yeah!! The Apple Store is geek heaven, a giant shiny uber cool toy box. The iPad is fun - it's light, does a lot of stuff, and, yes, it's pretty. I am obsessed.

7/17: Homemade vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries. Heaven!

The last three are from 7/19: The technique above is called "shooting through" because the focus is on the background, so the foreground is blurred.

Mysterious bug on the slider screen.

Last one - a geranium slowly unfolding. They have such graceful forms.

Humboldt Penguins at the Akron Zoo

While sorting through some photos for a work project, I came across this: Cute little guys, aren't they?

Zoo Layout

Although my favorite los tend to be more clean-lined, I love the art journaling look. Layout inspired by a Nature’s Sketchbook LO by Michelle Shefveland, pg 77, Somerset MEMORIES, February/March 2009 issue.

Journaling: Akron Zoo, April 10, 2010. Brilliant day, the animals were out and active - even the bats. Dodd Camera did a very enjoyable photography workshop. No better way to spend a Spring Saturday.

Credits: Cover Inspiration 03 14 10 elements, On the Corners No. 1 and On the Edge Flourishes brushes, Graphed No. 2 paper, and Photo Clusters No. 17, all from Katie Pertiet, Designer Digitals. Dover Clip Art feather and leopard. Fonts are Dickens, 72 and 31.

Tigers!

Lucky day! I went to a photography workshop at the Akron Zoo Saturday. Lovely spring day, bright and cool. And the vegetation in the enclosures hasn't grown in yet, so viewing was excellent. The tigers - all three - were in clear sight the entire time. I got some excellent shots, even through the glass. Used a 70 - 300mm lens, which prevented the camera from focusing on the glass. More later, since I have to get ready for work.
