May 25, 2009: Mom, Headlands, and Memorial Day Dessert

Usually, I'm not worried about turning into my mother. Usually, Mom!!
We stopped at Headlands after leaving my brother's house. Sat on a tree trunk washed up on the beach and enjoyed the cool breeze, sunshine, and watching the gulls.

The start of pineapple upsidedown cake for the family get-together at Gary and Marge's.

May 24, 2009: Ageratum

Just planted these this morning. Look at the close-up - the fuzzies are the stamens, and the flower petals are down in the center.

May 23, 2009: Tree Frog

She was on the grill this morning, wedged between between the burner knobs. Quite the cutie - note the pencil line around her ear and down her side.

The lineup of Semis caught my eye.

May 20, 2009: Business Travel

Car, Customer, Car, Hotel, Car, Customer, Car.
Ohio really upgraded their Turnpike Service Plazas. This one is somewhere between Cleveland and Toledo.

May 19, 2009: Waiting

This weekend will be warm enough to start planting - can't wait!

May 18, 2009: Late Frost

Three very frosty mornings in a row. I have three flats on the front porch waiting to be planted in the pots on the deck.

May 17, 2009: Barn Friend

He's a friendly little guy and an excellent mouser. He's just waiting for some pats before getting back to work.

May 16, 2009: No One Shoots a Grass Hog Like I Shoot a Grass Hog

May 12, 2009: Fair Trade

After a brutal Total Body Toning class, I had a tuna wrap and iced tea at Rico Latte. Fair Trade coffee and chocolate just tastes better...

May 11, 2009: Cruisin' Around the Neighborhood

This is an amazingly bad photo, but, hey, a Great Blue Heron in the middle of the 'burbs is a pretty arresting sight!

May 10, 2009: Holden Arboretum

After visiting with Mom and my family, I decided to take a photo walk at the Arbotetum. Not such a great idea, as the place was packed. Headed toward the fishing lakes, since they're off the beaten path. A little too late in the day for taking pictures. This frog held still long enough to have his photo taken.
The gate to Lantern Court (given to Holden by the owner, one of the Cornings) was open, so I drove back. There's a beautiful little gorge stream garden, shaded enough for pictures. Great shots of primroses and trillium, which I used for the "Art" challenge at Two Peas. The inspiration was a Fair Trade poster in Rico Latte, the little cafe at Summa Wellness Center.

May 8, 2009: Bees and Blossoms

My favorite photo from Saturday's session at the barn. The layout was done for the Saturday Scraplift at Designer Digitals.

May 7, 2009: Mulch Madness

Leather gloves after two loads of mulch....

May 6, 2009: 'Maters!!

Look what's coming up in the light stand in the basement! Sweet Peas and Hollyhocks are emerging, too.

May 5, 2009: Newly Planted Bonica Shrub Rose

This cutie is planted in day-long full sun. And it's a shrub rose, so it should do well. The blooms will be pink with a hint a salmon. Put one of Cindy S's daylilies next to it.

May 4, 2009: Jury-Rigged

The wireless on my laptop isn't working, so I'm cat-5-ing it for a while.

May 3, 2009: Lake West Hospital Lobby

Visiting Mom at Lake West. She's home now and feeling much better.
