Did this layout for our trip to Burton. Journaling: Chuck and I stayed at the Red Maple Inn in Burton for his birthday - a wonderful and relaxing weekend. We walked, watched maple sugaring, had coffee at a cool coffee shop/antique store, read, played pool, visited Lake FarmPark and just generally had a great time. I love you, Chuck. Credits: Lightly Letterbox and Color Inspiration digital paper, Fall Orchard elements, cardboard journalers, and stamp, all Katie Pertiet, Designer Digitals. Fonts are Khmer UI and Dear Joe Four.

Florida - Trade Show
I was in Orlando last week, to check out a trade show. Nice to be in some warm weather. I worked on this layout in the airport Friday. Cleveland was shut down most of the day and my 11:05 am flight didn't leave until 6:45 pm. I was lucky, though - two other Cleveland-bound flights were cancelled because they couldn't get the equipment out of Cleveland. I'm happy to be home.Credits: Digital papers, LivE designs for Jessica Sprague; House of 3 brush; Font is Carmine.

Geauga Antique Market, Sept. 25, 2010

Love this show - it's held in June and September at the Geauga County Fairgrounds. They have the most amazing collection of stuff, from furniture I'd kill for to woeful kitsch (see the chair in the layout). Went with Regina, had a blast, bought...nothing. Ah well - next year.

5 Days in Vegas: SGIA 2010 October 11 - 15
Journaling: Very busy week - from 4 am Monday until 11:45 pm on Friday – at the SGIA trade show in Las Vegas. Installed graphics at the Convention Center after we arrived on Monday. Had dinner with Vickie and Tom at the hotel (the Las Vegas Hilton) Monday night. Every day started at 7:30 am with a breakfast meeting, ran through seminars, booth duty and customer meetings, and then collapse into bed. I only had my P&S, not that it mattered, and had about 20 minutes to spend on the net one night. Not a bad week, but I wish I had more time to be a tourist.

Burton Apple Butter Festival: 10/10/10
(Pages meant to be viewed side-by-side)
Gary & Marge, Regina, Chuck & I went to Burton on the 10th, for the Apple Butter Festival. It's held at the Century Village. We got there pretty early and had a chance to see mostly everything before it got too crowded. Beautiful day, sunny and warm - too warm to have hot apple cider or fritters, actually. Nice peaceful drive back home, too.
Text reads:

Flying
Photos from a Bud Roberts jumping clinic at my barn. As fun to watch as it was to shoot. The girls were totally intent, and Bud is an amazing instructor.

This is my favorite shot from the afternoon.
Or is it this one? His name is Julius and he's quite the trooper.

Zoo Layout
Although my favorite los tend to be more clean-lined, I love the art journaling look. Layout inspired by a Nature’s Sketchbook LO by Michelle Shefveland, pg 77, Somerset MEMORIES, February/March 2009 issue.
Journaling: Akron Zoo, April 10, 2010. Brilliant day, the animals were out and active - even the bats. Dodd Camera did a very enjoyable photography workshop. No better way to spend a Spring Saturday.
Credits: Cover Inspiration 03 14 10 elements, On the Corners No. 1 and On the Edge Flourishes brushes, Graphed No. 2 paper, and Photo Clusters No. 17, all from Katie Pertiet, Designer Digitals. Dover Clip Art feather and leopard. Fonts are Dickens, 72 and 31.

Easter Layout
Journaling from my Easter layout:
It was dog madness at Mom's on Easter. Tina and John brought Wookie, Gary and Marge brought Smoky and Kloe, and Marco put up with them all. No dogs got snacks from the dinner table -honest! Marco looks a little pensive, probably because dinner is over and the snacks are gone! Kloe wore Smoky and Marco out. I didn't get a pic of Wookie, but he looks a lot like Kloe, only whiter with a little bit longer hair. He and Kloe are best buds now. Kloe is eight months old, and fearless about attacking Smoky, who's about six times her size. Mom and Marco - Yeah, that's the hopeful snack face. Gary and Marge - cute couple! My Honey, enjoying the traditional post-Easter Dinner nap in Mom's recliner. April 4, 2010.

I used the tablet for the handwriting on the left side and top. It's getting better, but still looks a little ragged.

These are pretty uncomfortable to do and even more uncomfortable to show, but I'm commited to my 2010 "One Little Word", Embrace Fear.

Art Journaling: Blue
My first attempt at art journaling. Not such a great week. Work's been a little crazy. It's beautiful outside, but who has time to be out there? And I am tired of shoveling snow. So I'm bahaing over it and waiting for Spring!
Blue: Too much snow, too little time to play, to read, to enjoy the gifts that life has to offer. Too much time trapped in an office... February 16, 2010.
