Two Peas is doing a series called "12 Weeks to Better Photography". The week one lesson and assignment is aperature. Both photos were taken in room light.

The F8 looks better to me - the African Violet's leaves come out of the center of the plant and are deeply textured. For these shot, F8 conveys the depth a little more effectively.
I love african violets, but just can grow them...can't wait to see some flower shots in the future!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, very sharp.

ReplyDeleteGood job, nice color!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing same subjects at different aperatures, great examples!
ReplyDeleteAwesome examples of aperture... and what an interesting fuzzy plant! Love the texture of the leaves!
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! From an artistic point of view, my inclination is towards the 2nd pic as it's lighter, and I can see the fuzz on the leaves better...
ReplyDeleteI've just been catching up, Mary Anne--what beautiful photography you take!
